Delhi Police have released photographs of 30 individuals allegedly involved in stone-pelting during a demolition drive near the century-old Faiz-e-Elahi mosque in Turkman Gate. The drive, carried out on the orders of the Delhi High Court, aimed to remove encroachments around the mosque. A crowd gathered at the site ahead of the drive, with some individuals hurling stones at police personnel. In response, the police used tear gas shells to disperse the crowd and detained five people. The police have registered a case under relevant sections and are collecting more evidence from body-borne cameras and on-site videography. The Delhi High Court had issued a notice to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and other parties on Tuesday, following a petition by the mosque's managing committee. In response, 32 bulldozers were deployed, accompanied by MCD officials, police, and paramilitary forces. The police have stated that they used minimal force and will take legal action against those involved in the stone-pelting. Raids are underway to apprehend the identified individuals.
