Multiple injuries, including a fractured neck and broken nose, were found on the body of a 22-year-old woman who was brutally raped and murdered in her Delhi apartment, an autopsy report revealed.
The victim, an IIT graduate, was found with abrasions and bruises on her arms, indicating she tried to fight her attacker.
An autopsy by AIIMS found that the victim suffered a fracture of both horns of the thyroid cartilage and intramuscular hemorrhage in the sternocleidomastoid, sternothyroid, and sternohyoid muscles.
All internal organs were found congested, consistent with asphyxial death due to strangulation.
The accused, a 23-year-old former house help, was arrested from a hotel in Dwarka and confessed to the crime, saying he did it for money.
