Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has released the first list of candidates for the upcoming Tamil Nadu election, naming key leaders and allies.
The DMK will contest 164 seats in the 234-Tamil Nadu assembly, with Congress, DMDK, CPI, and CPM getting 28, 10, 5, and 5 seats respectively.
Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Chief Minister's son and Deputy CM, will contest from Chepauk-Triplicane, while O Panneerselvam, the expelled AIADMK leader, has been fielded from Bodinayakkanur.
The election is set to take place in a single phase on April 23, with counting on May 4.
