A 34-year-old driver was burnt alive and a 26-year-old helper was injured after an oil tanker overturned and caught fire on National Highway 68 in Rajasthan's Jalore district.
The driver, Sukhram Meghwal, was unable to escape and was burnt alive inside the tanker, while the helper, Narsiram Meghwal, managed to jump out of the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.
The tanker was en route from Barmer to Gujarat when it lost balance and overturned near the Sinwara overbridge, causing a massive fire that spread across 200 meters.
Fire brigade teams took nearly an hour to bring the blaze under control, and authorities have begun an investigation into the cause of the accident, which is suspected to be a mechanical failure.
