{ "title": "Fadnavis to Prashant Kishor: In Democracy, Numbers Trump Ideology", "article": "Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has offered advice to Jan Suraj leader Prashant Kishor, whose party drew a blank in the Bihar assembly polls. Fadnavis emphasized the importance of numbers in politics, saying that one cannot propagate an ideology without a strong following. Speaking at a public event in Mumbai, Fadnavis highlighted two ways to run a democracy: through ideology or through numbers. He noted that while ideology is essential, it must be supported by a substantial number of people to be effective. Fadnavis also stressed the need for pragmatism in politics, stating that one must be relevant to bring about change. Fadnavis's comments come in the wake of Jan Suraj's poor performance in the Bihar polls. The party, which contested 238 seats, failed to win a single seat. Despite this setback, Prashant Kishor has vowed to work harder to achieve his goal of improving Bihar. In the Bihar election, the NDA secured a landslide victory, winning 202 seats in the 243-member assembly. The BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 89 seats, while the Janata Dal (United) finished second with 85 seats. The opposition Mahagathbandhan secured only 35 seats. Fadnavis also spoke about the upcoming civic polls in Maharashtra, stating that the BJP plans to reserve at least 40 per cent of tickets for candidates under the age of 35. The move is seen as an effort to promote youth participation in politics."
