Haryana's Director General of Police, O P Singh, has emphasized the need for a more proactive, public trust-centric, and result-oriented policing system. Singh made this announcement during a strategy meeting at the Haryana Police Academy in Madhuban, where senior IPS officers were present. The meeting aimed to review the challenges, achievements, and operational experiences of 2025 and to finalize the crime control roadmap, priorities, and action plan for 2026. Singh directed the police to focus on strengthening crime prevention mechanisms, intelligence gathering, and public outreach. A key priority for the Haryana Police in 2026 will be to intensify surveillance on criminals involved in multiple cases, particularly those on bail. The DGP also instructed the police to maintain relentless pressure on criminal elements, ensure visible, deterrent policing, and freeze properties acquired through illicit activities. To combat the growing threat of cybercrime, Singh directed the strengthening of district-level cyber units to provide faster response, effective investigation, and timely relief to victims of digital fraud and cyber offenses. The Haryana Police has committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and performance, with the DGP urging officers to work with dedication, discipline, and professionalism in the coming year. By prioritizing result-oriented policing and public trust, the Haryana Police aims to maintain its effectiveness and success in addressing emerging security challenges.
