India, Japan hold key meeting on healthcare in Delhi| India News

New Delhi, India and Japan have strengthened their commitment to deepen bilateral collaboration in the health sector. Union Health Minister JP Nadda emphasized that cooperation between the two countries is guided by a shared vision of strengthening health systems, improving accessibility, and promoting innovation.

The third Joint Committee Meeting on Healthcare between India and Japan was co-chaired by Nadda and Japan's minister in charge of Healthcare Policy, Kimi Onoda. The meeting aimed to advance the partnership through regular dialogue and deeper mutual understanding.

Discussions focused on key issues such as prevention and management of non-communicable diseases, supply chain resilience, digital health, and human resource development. India highlighted its comprehensive strategy to address the rising burden of NCDs, while Japan shared its initiatives in cancer screening and strengthening treatment systems.

Both countries also emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration, digital infrastructure, and system integration in advancing healthcare cooperation.
