India Condemns Commercial Shipping Attacks Amid Strait of Hormuz Blockade

India has condemned the targeting of commercial shipping in international waters, calling for de-escalation through dialogue and diplomacy.
Addressing the IMO Council in London, Indian envoy Vikram Doraiswamy emphasized freedom of navigation and the safety of all seafarers, expressing concern over the blockade of routes along the Strait of Hormuz.
India is among the top three seafarer-supplying nations, contributing 13% of the global seafaring workforce, and remains deeply concerned about the safety and welfare of all seafarers.
