The Indian government has issued a fresh advisory urging those who have traveled from or transited through Ebola-affected countries to isolate themselves if they develop symptoms.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare clarified that there are no confirmed Ebola cases in India, but those who have traveled to affected countries and are experiencing symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhea, or unexplained bleeding should isolate and inform local health authorities.

A helpline number, 1075, has been shared for contacting authorities for assistance.

The advisory comes as the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Ebola outbreak a public health emergency of international concern last month, with over 200 deaths and 1,077 suspected cases reported.

However, recent reports suggest that the outbreak may be slowing in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with the main airport in the eastern province reopening.
