Chief Justice of India Surya Kant met the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, in Thimphu and offered support for technical assistance and digitalisation of judicial processes.
The CJI also met Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay to discuss judicial cooperation, legal education, and bilateral ties.
Both sides acknowledged the challenges posed by cybercrime and digital fraud, and emphasized the need for strengthening judicial awareness, cross-border cooperation, and technological capacity.
CJI Kant offered to facilitate internship opportunities for students from the JSW School of Law in Bhutan.
