India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has dismissed Pakistan's role as a negotiator in the ongoing US-Iran conflict, stating that India does not engage in 'dalali' or brokering.
Jaishankar briefed lawmakers in an all-party meeting on the West Asia crisis, assuring them that India has sufficient fuel stocks and that five more tankers are expected to arrive in the coming days.
The government also denied being silent on the killing of Ayatollah Khamenei, emphasizing its good relationship with Tehran.
Jaishankar revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested US President Donald Trump to end the war at the earliest, citing its impact on the global economy.
Opposition leaders raised questions on Pakistan's role, India's energy autonomy, and the delay in offering condolences for Khamenei's death, to which Jaishankar responded by stating that India has been actively engaging with all parties involved.
