India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has criticized certain Western countries for their reaction to Operation Sindoor, a military operation launched by India in May 2025 in response to a terror attack. Speaking to the Indian community in Luxembourg, Jaishankar said that these countries, which are quick to offer advice on how to handle local conflicts, often fail to address issues in their own region. Jaishankar pointed out the 'Western hypocrisy' by saying that countries that are far away from the conflict zone will express concern over tensions, but refuse to examine their own regional risks. He urged countries that genuinely want to cooperate with India to maintain a positive approach, while dealing with nations like Pakistan, which pose a threat, in a different manner. The External Affairs Minister also emphasized that countries in today's world often prioritize their own interests and only take action when it benefits them. Jaishankar recalled how several countries advised India on how to conduct Operation Sindoor, but when questioned about their own regional issues, they failed to take responsibility. On a separate note, Jaishankar held talks with Luxembourg's Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister to discuss growing bilateral cooperation in finance, investment, and technology sectors. The talks aimed to strengthen ties between the two nations.
