The Election Commission of India has ordered repolling in all 285 polling stations in Falta Assembly Constituency in West Bengal, citing severe electoral offences and subversion of the democratic process.

The repoll will be held on May 21 between 7 am and 6 pm, and the votes will be counted on May 24.

Repolling was also held in 15 polling booths in Diamond Harbour and Magrahat Paschim after the EC declared polls at the affected booths as void.

Massive protests were reported in Falta as locals alleged receiving threats from Trinamool Congress cadre, with several women demanding action against those allegedly responsible.

The ECI received at least 77 complaints linked to EVM tampering during the second phase of the West Bengal elections, with some cases involving adhesive tape or ink covering party buttons.
