India's Heatwave Worsens: Residents Face 'Horrific Winds' Warning

Residents of Noida and Ghaziabad received a severe weather alert on their phones, warning them of extremely hot, dry winds described as 'loo se bhi bheeshan loo' or 'worse than loo.'

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a warning for 10 districts, including Aligarh, Etah, and Gautam Buddh Nagar, for extremely hot winds.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), an orange alert for extreme heat and loo is active for Delhi and parts of NCR, with temperatures expected to soar up to 46 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

The IMD has also stated that predominant surface winds are expected from the northwest direction, with wind speeds reaching up to 20 kmph during the afternoon hours.
