The Indian Parliament has concluded its Budget session with the passage of key legislations, including the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, and a bill recognising Amaravati as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh.

During the session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed concerns related to the impact of the ongoing war in West Asia on India's fuel supplies and national security, assuring the country that the government is working to minimise the effects.

The session also witnessed the Opposition moving a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, which was defeated, and a notice against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, which remains pending.

The Lok Sabha approved the Finance Bill 2026, and both Houses cleared six bills, including the CAPF bill, which provides for 50% of posts to be filled by IPS officers and a minimum of 67% by deputation in the rank of additional director general.

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi slammed the CAPF bill, asserting that his party will repeal it when it comes to power, citing institutional injustice to millions of CAPF personnel.
