The Indian community in the US, known for its socioeconomic status, is reevaluating its 'American dream' under President Donald Trump's second term.

A recent survey by Carnegie Endowment found that over 40% of Indian-Americans have considered leaving the country, citing frustration with US politics, high cost of living, and concerns about personal safety.

The 2026 Indian American Attitudes Survey, conducted in partnership with YouGov, reveals a decline in Democratic Party identification and an increase in Republican identification among Indian-Americans.

Despite widespread disapproval of Trump's policies, the survey found no significant gain for Democrats.

The survey also highlights the growing issue of racism and discrimination faced by Indian-Americans, with no significant change in reported personal experiences since 2020.
