Food regulator FSSAI has issued a notice to IRCTC after a viral video showed railway catering staff allegedly washing utensils inside a train toilet.
The video, shared on social media, purportedly showed IRCTC staff handling food items in the toilet area of the 12223 Duronto Express.
FSSAI termed the act 'highly objectionable' as it could lead to food contamination, citing the risk of serious contamination and non-compliance with food safety regulations.
The regulator has sought a reply from IRCTC on the matter at the earliest.
