External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has arrived in France to participate in a G7 foreign ministers' meeting focused on pressing global challenges. India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Ukraine are partner countries invited to the meeting.
Jaishankar will hold bilateral meetings with several counterparts during the visit and is expected to discuss ways to tackle Iran's nuclear and ballistic programmes, as well as narcotics trafficking and maritime security.
The meeting will also focus on reconstruction and economic integration in the Middle East, with a focus on channeling funds to where they are needed.
The G7 foreign ministers and their counterparts will discuss the reform of UN peacekeeping missions, including making them more efficient and able to cope with budget constraints.
