The Jharkhand government has partnered with Bank of India to provide exclusive benefits to its employees and pensioners. Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Tuesday, government employees with Bank of India accounts will enjoy various perks, including accidental insurance coverage of up to ₹2 crore, health insurance, and educational benefits for their children. Chief Minister Hemant Soren hailed the initiative, saying it's a significant step towards ensuring the well-being of government employees and pensioners. The CM emphasized that the government's vision is to empower every citizen, socially, economically, and educationally. Bank of India operates a significant network in Jharkhand, with 494 branches, including 300 in rural areas, and 264 ATMs. The bank's executive director, Subrat Kumar, highlighted the importance of this partnership in providing convenient banking services to the state's residents. The benefits package is divided into three segments: permanent employees, contract employees, and pensioners. While the details vary for each group, they all enjoy enhanced accidental insurance coverage and other exclusive benefits. For permanent employees, the package includes air accidental cover, general accidental insurance, and term insurance, in addition to educational benefits. This collaboration between the Jharkhand government and Bank of India aims to provide a better quality of life for its employees and pensioners, ensuring their financial security and well-being.
