Kanpur Horror: 14-Year-Old Gangraped, YouTuber Arrested as Cops Scramble to Catch Rogue Officer

A 14-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly abducted and gangraped in Kanpur's Sachendi area, prompting a high-level investigation. The police have arrested a local YouTuber, Shivbaran Yadav, and are on the hunt for Sub-Inspector Amit Kumar Maurya, who is accused of involvement in the crime. The incident has sparked outrage, with police Commissioner Raghubir Lal removing Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Chandra Tripathi and suspending Sachendi Station House Officer Vikram Singh for alleged lapses and distortion of facts. The victim, a class 7 dropout, was allegedly taken to a deserted spot near a railway track and sexually assaulted for nearly two hours before being abandoned outside her house. The police have seized the SUV used in the crime, which belongs to Maurya, who was found to be present in Sachendi despite being posted at the Bithoor Police Station. The victim's family alleged a cover-up by the local police, claiming they were initially turned away when they mentioned a policeman's involvement. The investigation has been handed over to Additional DCP Kapil Dev Singh, who has vowed to conduct the probe with complete transparency and take strict action against all guilty parties.
