Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has shared a video message detailing reasons for his refusal to appear before Delhi High Court Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma in the excise policy case.
Kejriwal alleged a conflict of interest due to the judge's children being associated with advocates' panels of the central government, and receiving multiple government legal appointments.
He claimed that Justice Sharma's son was assigned an 'extraordinarily high' number of cases by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who represents the CBI in the case, and that each case represented a significant appearance fee.
This is not the first time Kejriwal has raised concerns about Justice Sharma's children, and the judge has previously dismissed his claims, stating that they would effectively disqualify many judges from hearing cases involving governments or political figures.
