A LPG vessel, Apollo Ocean, has arrived at New Mangalore Port in India, carrying a consignment of 16,000 metric tons of LPG.

The arrival comes as the ongoing conflict in West Asia continues to disrupt energy supply chains, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi warning of a serious global energy crisis and disruptions to key trade routes.

Earlier, two Indian-flagged vessels carrying LPG safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and reached India, with the government engaging with stakeholders to facilitate the movement of Indian vessels out of the affected zone.

PM Modi described attempts to block maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz as 'unacceptable' and highlighted the human dimension of the crisis, with nearly ten million Indians living and working in the region.
