West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led a massive roadshow in south Kolkata's Bhabanipur as campaigning ended for the second phase of state assembly elections. The roadshow covered nearly 9 km and passed through Jadavpur, Rashbehari, and Ballygunge before culminating in Bhabanipur.
Banerjee, seeking a fourth consecutive term, was accompanied by party leaders and thousands of supporters who waved TMC flags and chanted slogans. She also rode pillion on a two-wheeler at one point.
Bhabanipur is set for a high-stakes contest with the BJP fielding Suvendu Adhikari, who defeated Banerjee in Nandigram in 2021. Adhikari also held a roadshow in Bhabanipur on Monday, covering around 2 km.
Banerjee raised concerns over the electoral roll, saying that around 60,000 voters were deleted or under adjudication. However, she remained confident of winning from Bhabanipur, saying 'I will win from Bhabanipur, even if there is one vote.'
