Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil ended his indefinite hunger strike after the state government handed over a 12-point proposal addressing his key demands.

The proposal, agreed upon by state minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and BJP MLC Prasad Lad, includes issuing caste certificates to Marathas based on Kunbi records, handing over details of 5.8 million Kunbi records, and expediting the process of issuing caste validity certificates.

Jarange-Patil had been on hunger strike since Saturday, demanding Kunbi certificates for all Marathas, withdrawal of cases against protesters, and a separate Maratha department, among other demands.

After due deliberations, Jarange-Patil ended the strike by drinking fruit juice at 1.30 am, and will undergo a detailed medical examination at a private hospital.
