A 20-year-old Marine Engineering student in Pune died after a basketball court structure collapsed on him inside his college campus.
Vishal Varma, a second-year student, had stopped at the court to do pull-ups before the structure broke and collapsed, leaving him severely injured.
He suffered a severe scarf fracture and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
An investigation is underway, with concerns raised over the condition and maintenance of sports infrastructure within the campus.
