A harrowing incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon when a nine-seater private plane, operated by IndiaOne Airlines, crash-landed in a farmland near Katibandha Kansara in Rourkela, Odisha. The aircraft, a Caravan 208, was flying from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela when it encountered a technical snag, forcing the pilots to make an emergency landing. According to officials, the single-engine plane took off at 12:27 pm with two pilots and four passengers on board. However, shortly after take-off, the pilots reported a technical issue and declared a 'Mayday' call. They then carried out a forced landing in an open area, approximately 15-20 km short of Rourkela. Miraculously, all six individuals on board, including the pilots, escaped with injuries. The Odisha government has confirmed that the injured have been rescued and admitted to a local hospital in Rourkela. The area has been cordoned off as a precautionary measure due to the leakage of aviation fuel from the aircraft. The incident is being investigated by the aviation regulators and the Odisha State Government, with IndiaOne Airlines working closely to provide assistance and support to the passengers and crew. The airline has also pledged to facilitate further actions as required.
