The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved a new policy to compensate farmers up to four times the market value for their agricultural land acquired for critical infrastructure projects.
The move aims to accelerate the pace of development in rural areas and improve the economic condition of farming families.
State minister Narendra Shivaji Patel said the policy will benefit farmers whose land is acquired for projects like irrigation schemes, roads, bridges, railways, and dam construction.
The Cabinet approved the higher compensation under the Madhya Pradesh Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules, 2015.
The government has also approved the construction of shelter homes for attendants at medical colleges and district hospitals, which will provide affordable accommodation and meals.
The government has allocated ₹2,000 crore over the next five years to develop advanced medical facilities, including Cath Labs and organ transplant units across medical colleges.
