Police authorities in Mumbai have put in place extensive security arrangements to ensure peace and law and order during Bakrid celebrations. Around 550 police personnel have been deployed across the city, with continuous patrolling underway in sensitive areas.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Mira Road) Rahul Chavan said that social media is also being monitored to maintain communal harmony and ensure a peaceful festival. However, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has alleged that illegal animal slaughter for Bakri Eid is taking place at several locations in Mumbai.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has cancelled permission for Bakri Eid qurbani at the premises of Azad Nagar D-3 building in Goregaon (East). Eid Al-Adha or Bakra Eid is a significant Islamic festival observed on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
