Delhi Police described the 19-year-old accused in the killing of an IRS officer's daughter as a gambler, an addict, and someone who had accumulated debts he failed to repay.

The victim was strangled using a mobile phone charger, police said.

The accused was hired as a servant a year ago and was fired about a month and a half ago for frequently borrowing money.

He returned to the victim's residence after committing the crime, changed his trousers, and the motive is still under investigation.
