A 50-year-old man in Odisha, India, made headlines for bringing his dead sister's skeleton to the bank in an attempt to withdraw money deposited in her name.
The incident occurred at the Maliposi branch of Odisha Grameen Bank in Keonjhar district, where the man, Jeetu Munda, was seeking to withdraw ₹20,000 from his sister's account.
According to Munda, bank officials repeatedly told him to bring the account holder, despite him informing them of his sister's death.
Out of frustration, Munda dug up his sister's grave and brought the skeleton to the bank as proof of her death.
However, police officials intervened and assured Munda that they would facilitate the withdrawal of the money from his sister's account.
The skeletal remains were later buried at the graveyard under police supervision.
