Around 12,000 employees in India are reportedly part of the 30,000 laid off by Oracle, a US-based tech giant, with another round of job cuts expected within a month.

According to reports, Oracle has fired around 30,000 employees globally, with 12,000 of them being from India.

Those impacted by the retrenchment have reportedly been offered a severance package, including 15 days' salary, one month of unpaid wages, leave encashment, gratuity, and pay for a one-month notice period, as well as a two-month salary top-up.

However, only those who voluntarily and amicably resign from the company are reportedly eligible for the severance package.

Oracle has approximately 30,000 employees in India, including those affected by the layoffs, and had about 1,62,000 full-time employees globally as of May 2025.
