Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha, highlighting the government's efforts to protect Indian citizens and key supplies amidst the West Asia conflict.
Modi stated that around 3.75 lakh Indians have returned home since the war began, with 1,000 evacuated from Iran, including 700 medical students.
The government is closely monitoring shipping routes in the Gulf to ensure critical supplies like crude oil, gas, and fertilisers reach India without major disruption.
Modi assured farmers that the government will continue to support them despite global uncertainties, with sufficient food grain stocks and a close watch on fertiliser supplies.
Domestic LPG consumption has been prioritised, and steps are being taken to prevent sharp increases in fuel prices, with India diversifying its energy imports from 41 countries.
