Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a swipe at the Congress party after the NDA alliance's landslide victory in the Bihar election results 2025. In an address at the BJP's Delhi headquarters, Modi mocked the Congress for its consecutive losses in the last six state elections, saying that the total number of Congress MLAs elected in these polls is less than the BJP's MLAs elected in Bihar alone. The Prime Minister accused the Congress of being a 'Muslim League-Maowadi' party, referring to its alleged ties with extremist groups. He also claimed that even the Congress's allies are beginning to understand that the party is a 'liability' due to its negative politics. The Congress has indeed suffered a devastating loss in the Bihar election results, securing only six leads and winning three seats. This is a significant decline from the 19 seats the party won in the 2020 Bihar elections as part of its alliance with the RJD. Modi's comments come as the NDA alliance, led by the Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party, has officially crossed the majority mark of 122 and is set to form the government in Bihar. The results mark a significant victory for the NDA and a major setback for the Congress party, which has faced consecutive losses in state elections in recent years.
