Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two new Delhi Metro corridors, marking a significant expansion of the city's public transport system. The Pink Line has been extended to 71.56 kilometres, completing the country's first fully operational 'ring metro' that runs around large parts of Delhi.

The Majlis Park-Maujpur-Babarpur section of the Pink Line and the Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park stretch of the Magenta Line were inaugurated, featuring 18 new stations and a new bridge over the Yamuna.

Modi also laid the foundation stones for three Delhi Metro corridors under Phase 5(A), including the Central Vista corridor, the Golden Line extension, and a new elevated extension of the Golden Line.

The projects are expected to strengthen links between Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) cities, and will be developed at a cost of ₹33,500 crore.
