He also appealed to citizens to reduce fuel consumption, use public transport, and carpool, citing India's high import dependence on crude oil.
Modi emphasized the importance of digital technology and urged people to prioritize virtual meetings and work from home in both government and private offices.
He also asked citizens to avoid buying gold and to prefer domestic locations for vacations and weddings.
The PM called for strengthening the consumption of domestic goods and adopting local products, and spoke about the need to move towards natural farming practices.
