PM Modi Urges Regional Peace Amid Tensions with Iran, Meets Leaders from Saudi, Bahrain, and Jordan

In a bid to ensure the safety of over 10 million Indians living in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been engaging with key regional leaders. On Monday, he held phone conversations with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahrain King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, condemning the recent attacks on their countries and emphasizing the need for regional peace and stability. Modi expressed India's deep concern over the escalating tensions in the region, sparked by joint strikes by Israel and the US on Iran over the weekend. He urged all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize the safety of civilians. India has been focusing on the well-being of its citizens in the region, with the majority residing in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Modi thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for his support and expressed gratitude to Bahrain King Hamad for his steadfast support to the Indian community. The PM also spoke with Jordan King Abdullah II, conveying India's concern over the situation and thanking him for his support to the Indian community. Modi had earlier spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, reiterating the need for an early cessation of hostilities and condemning the attacks on the UAE. The Iran crisis was also discussed during Modi's meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in New Delhi. Modi urged all sides to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions and emphasized the importance of regional stability. Modi's outreach to key West Asian leaders reflects India's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad and promoting regional peace and stability.
