Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sounded a warning that the forces opposing India's unity and growth are still active. Speaking at the Somnath Swabhiman Parv in Gujarat, Modi reflected on the 1,000-year history of the Somnath temple, which has survived multiple invasions and attempts at destruction. Despite centuries of attacks, including a devastating raid by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026, the temple stands as a powerful symbol of India's resilience and national pride. Modi emphasized that the true history of India's struggle against invaders has been distorted, with many being taught that the attacks were mere attempts to loot temples. However, the Prime Minister highlighted that the real story is one of hatred, atrocity, and terror. He noted that even after India's independence, forces with extremist mindsets continued to obstruct efforts to rebuild the Somnath temple, and that these forces remain present today. Modi drew parallels between the Somnath temple's struggle and India's broader history, highlighting that foreign invaders have repeatedly attempted to destroy the country. However, he emphasized that India has always emerged stronger, with the flag of Somnath still flying high after 1,000 years. The Prime Minister's message was clear: India needs to remain alert, united, and powerful to defeat the forces that seek to undermine its progress.
