Chennai: A bitter power struggle within the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has escalated, with founder S Ramadoss issuing a stern public warning to his son Anbumani through a notice published in local newspapers. The notice, issued through Ramadoss's lawyers, asserts that Anbumani has 'no legal authority' to act on behalf of the party and cannot claim to be its president or represent it in any capacity. The Delhi High Court's December 4 verdict, cited in the notice, confirms Ramadoss's control over the party. Ramadoss has warned parties, organisations, and individuals against entering into electoral pacts with Anbumani in the name of PMK, terming such actions as 'illegal' and 'misleading' to the public. He urged the public to be cautious of such attempts and not to be swayed by Anbumani's claims of party leadership. The power struggle between Ramadoss and his son has intensified, with Anbumani expelling party honorary president G K Mani on December 26, claiming 'anti-party activities.' Mani, a loyalist of Ramadoss, had expressed support for the senior leader's leadership in the party. The situation is set to unfold further, with Ramadoss scheduled to chair the PMK's state executive and general council meeting in Salem on December 29.
