Prashant Kishor, the poll strategist who founded the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP), has hinted that he may contest the upcoming bypoll to the Bankipur assembly seat in Patna, Bihar.
Bankipur is a BJP fortress, and the JSP had fielded Vandana Kumari, a 37-year-old debutant, who finished a distant third in the last assembly elections.
Kishor is bullish on Bankipur, claiming that only the JSP can defeat the BJP there, and that the party just needs to field a strong candidate.
The bypoll will be a test for the new BJP-JD(U) regime under Samrat Choudhary, who recently replaced Nitish Kumar as CM.
Kishor has been keeping people guessing about his plans, but his recent moves suggest that he may be preparing for a bigger role in politics.
