Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused the Assam BJP government of curbing people's freedom of expression through beneficiary schemes.

Vadra stated that the schemes, including cash transfers to women's accounts, are conditional to attending BJP events.

She alleged that women in Assam are being forced to choose between attending BJP meetings and attending to their household chores or earning a living.

Vadra also accused the BJP of forcing Congress workers to attend Prime Minister Modi's events in Assam.

The Congress leader referred to cultural icon Zubeen Garg and said the party wants to turn Assam into a state he dreamed of – strong, developed, and where everyone can live with self-respect.

Vadra highlighted five key promises made in the Congress manifesto, including justice for Zubeen Garg, permanent land records for indigenous people, and free medical insurance for all families.
