The mastermind behind the 2019 Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir has been killed in a shootout in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Arjumand Gulzar, alias Burhan Hamza, was shot dead by unknown men in Muzaffarabad, despite being under heavy ISI-vetted security.
Hamza, who lived under his alias as 'Doctor' in a densely populated neighbourhood, had security details of eight commandos and state-level protection.
He was declared a designated terrorist under UAPA for orchestrating the 2019 suicide terror attack in Pulwama, which killed 40 CRPF personnel.
The attack was carried out by Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad, prompting a retaliation by Indian security forces.
