Punjab was shaken by two blasts within hours of each other, with the first occurring outside the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters in Jalandhar and the second near an army cantonment in Amritsar.

The blast in Jalandhar happened on Tuesday evening in a two-wheeler parked outside the BSF headquarters, causing significant damage to the vehicle. The Khalistan Liberation Army (KLA) claimed responsibility for the blast through a social media post, citing revenge for the encounter of the main accused in the killing of two security personnel in Gurdaspur's Dorangla.

Just hours after the Jalandhar blast, another explosion-like incident was reported in Amritsar near the boundary wall of the Army cantonment. The impact damaged a tin sheet installed on the wall, and officials found that a section of the sheet had been hit and knocked down.

Security agencies, including the BSF and the Army, launched a joint search operation to investigate the incidents further. The Amritsar police restricted public movement in certain areas to investigate the nature of the sudden blast.

The Punjab Congress President and MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring expressed concern over the potential disruption of peace and demanded accountability and immediate action from the government. Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla also launched an attack on the Bhagwant Mann government, urging the Union Home Minister to intervene in the matter and order a high-level investigation.
