Raghav Chadha, a key figure in the Aam Aadmi Party, has been at the centre of an internal tussle after being removed as Rajya Sabha deputy leader. Chadha has consistently raised issues that directly affect people's daily lives, but the AAP leadership has accused him of focusing on 'soft PR' instead of hard-hitting political issues.

Here are seven 'soft' issues Chadha has raised in Parliament:

1. Paternity Leave and Shared Caregiving

Chadha demanded legal recognition of paternity leave, arguing that caregiving responsibilities should not fall solely on women. He stressed that 'caregiving is a shared responsibility' and that laws must reflect this reality.

2. Traffic Crisis in Metro Cities

Chadha raised concerns over worsening traffic congestion in major cities, calling for a 'National Urban Decongestion Mission' with better public transport, smarter traffic systems, and a scientific parking policy.

3. 28-Day Monthly Recharge and 'Use it or Lose it' Data

Chadha questioned telecom practices, particularly prepaid users, and demanded that unused data be carried forward and that plans be aligned with 30-31 day cycles.

4. Menstrual Health and Dignity

Chadha highlighted gaps in menstrual health infrastructure, arguing that menstrual health is not a favour, but a matter of health, education, equality, and dignity.

5. Airport Food and 'Udaan Yatri Cafes'

Chadha raised concerns about expensive food at airports, welcoming the government's Udaan Yatri Cafes initiative but flagging limited presence across airports and their placement outside security areas.

6. Right to Recall and Political Accountability

Chadha advocated for a 'right to recall', arguing that five years is too long to wait for accountability and that several democracies already have recall mechanisms.

7. Gig Workers and Ground Reality

Chadha spoke about gig economy workers, stressing 'fair wages, humane hours, and basic safeguards', and backing demands for better pay and benefits.
