Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally supervised the NEET paper leak, drawing a sharp response from the BJP.

The Congress leader's remarks came after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the Supreme Court that PM Modi was personally monitoring concerns regarding the cancellation of NEET-UG following the paper leak controversy.

The BJP hit back at Rahul Gandhi's comments, saying he had chosen 'sensationalism over responsibility' and urged him to not make 'absurd and sensational allegations'.

Union tourism minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat called Rahul Gandhi's statement 'absurd' and said a Leader of Opposition is expected to present facts, not make sensational allegations for political attention.
