Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has arrived in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers meeting. The meeting comes amid instability in West Asia following the US-Israel war with Iran.
The SCO meeting is expected to discuss measures to reduce the impact of the ongoing conflict, which has far-reaching implications for global energy security, food security, and economic stability.
Singh had previously stated that the geopolitical instability in West Asia is no longer a regional issue, given its direct implications for India's security and economic stability.
During the meeting, defence ministers from various member countries will deliberate on issues concerning the defence and security of the region, including international peace, counter-terrorism, and defence cooperation.
