Record Voter Turnout in Bengal and Tamil Nadu: Highest Since Independence

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has praised the voters of West Bengal and Tamil Nadu for achieving the highest-ever voter turnout in both states since independence.

West Bengal recorded a massive 91.91% turnout, while Tamil Nadu followed closely with 84.80% of ballots cast, according to the latest ECI data.

Several districts in West Bengal, including Dakshin Dinajpur, Cooch Behar, Birbhum, Jalpaiguri, and Murshidabad, recorded voter turnout of over 90%.

Tamil Nadu also saw a strong turnout across key districts, with Karur leading at 92.48%, followed closely by Salem, Dharmapuri, Erode, and Namakkal.

The numbers reflect an overwhelming voter turnout across districts, reinforcing both states' consistent trend of high electoral participation.
