Rohini Acharya, the daughter of RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav, announced on Saturday that she is leaving politics and disowning her family. In a shocking move, she named two individuals, Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, as the reason behind her decision. Sanjay Yadav, a Rajya Sabha MP from RJD and close aide of Tejashwi Yadav, is reportedly one of the most trusted confidants of the RJD heir apparent. Rameez, on the other hand, is a longtime friend of Tejashwi Yadav from a prominent political family in Uttar Pradesh. Rohini Acharya's decision comes a day after the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan suffered a crushing defeat in the Bihar assembly elections, securing only 35 seats out of 243. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the BJP and JD(U) won 202 seats. This development is significant, especially considering Lalu Yadav's recent decision to expel his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the RJD for six years and sever ties with him. Rohini Acharya had been seen as unhappy with this decision, and it is speculated that her announcement may be related to the family's internal conflicts. Rohini Acharya had previously made headlines for donating a kidney to her father and contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Saran last year. Her announcement raises questions about the future of RJD and the dynamics within the Yadav family.
