Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya has made a shocking announcement, stating she is quitting politics and disassociating herself from her family. This move comes a day after the RJD suffered a crushing defeat in the Bihar assembly election 2025, securing only 25 seats. Rohini Acharya revealed on social media that she has been advised by Sanjay Yadav, a trusted aide of Lalu's son Tejashwi Yadav, and Rameez Alam, a close friend of Tejashwi's from Uttar Pradesh, to leave politics and her family. She took full responsibility for this decision, despite the party's recent electoral loss. This development follows the expulsion of Lalu's elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party and the family over a social media post. Tej Pratap had since formed his own political platform, contesting in the Bihar polls independently. Rohini had initially shown her support for Tej Pratap through a social media post, but went on to campaign for Tejashwi during the assembly elections. Rohini Acharya, a medical graduate, had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Saran but lost. She has been a prominent figure within the RJD camp, earning respect for donating a kidney to her father. Her decision to quit politics and family has sparked speculation about the internal conflicts within the RJD leadership.
