Samrat Choudhary has been sworn in as the chief minister of Bihar, marking a historic milestone for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.

Choudhary's ascension to the top post follows Nitish Kumar's resignation after winning a seat in the Rajya Sabha.

Before becoming chief minister, Choudhary served as deputy chief minister and home minister in the Nitish Kumar-led cabinet.

Alongside Choudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary were also sworn in as Bihar's deputy chief ministers.

Choudhary's rise to the top ranks began when he was elected as the legislative leader of the BJP in the Bihar assembly.

After being named legislative leader, Choudhary met with Governor Syed Ata Hasnain to stake his claim to form a new government in Bihar.

Expressing gratitude to the party leadership, Choudhary described the role as a 'sacred opportunity' to serve the people of Bihar.
