Shiv Sena-UBT MP Shaina NC clashed with Uddhav Thackeray's party colleague Sanjay Raut over comments he allegedly made about Kamathipura, a south Mumbai neighborhood known for its red-light district. Raut's remarks, caught on a viral video, were seen as derogatory towards women in the area. In the video, Raut can be heard saying that the BJP is 'standing in Kamathipura to do business,' sparking outrage online. Shaina NC condemned Raut's statement, labeling him 'sadakchaap' for making comments that are 'beneath a public representative.' She also reminded Raut that his party suffered a crushing defeat in the 2024 Maharashtra state Assembly elections and is likely to face a similar blow in the upcoming civic body elections. The controversy comes ahead of the January 16 municipal corporation election results, which could further erode Uddhav Thackeray's party's credibility. Shaina NC warned that Raut's divisive comments are a liability for his party and may ultimately be the 'enemy within' that contributes to its downfall.
